Askania’s roots lie in the company Axel H Ågren, which was established back in 1887. From the beginning we imported chemicals and foundry products, although we started our own production in Sweden as early as the 1930s. We are now one of the leading suppliers of raw materials in the Nordic region.

Askania is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial sand, industrial minerals, sodium silicate and products for cleaning water, air and gases, as well as a large number of other raw materials. Our customers can be found in sectors such as foundries, steel and metal works, the glass industry, the ceramics industry, the building commodities industry, blasting companies, the pulp and paper industry, the chemical industry and local authorities.

Alongside our customers and suppliers, we are constantly developing new applications for our raw materials.

Since 1992 Askania has been owned by the Belgian industrial mineral group Sibelco.

Our head office is located in Göteborg, with processing facilities/stores in Baskarp, Lödöse, Malmö, Norrköping and Västerås.

We have some 70 suppliers

Numerous long-term customer relationships have also taught us to identify the fastest and most secure delivery routes. Our network of international suppliers is continually being expanded. We currently have some 70 suppliers, mostly from European countries, although also in the USA, South Africa, India and Russia.
